In This Moment is an American alternative metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed past vocalist Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth in 2005. They institute drummer Jeff Fabb and started the band every bit Dying Star. They have received two nominations of Alternative Printing Music Awards, including two for All-time Difficult Rock Artist and one for Best Live Ring. They have as well received a Grammy nomination for All-time Metal Performance.

The ring's line-up has changed several times. Landry was replaced past Kyle Konkiel in 2009 and Konkiel was replaced by Travis Johnson in 2010. Jeff Fabb and Blake Bunzel left the band in 2011, and were replaced past Tom Hane and Randy Weitzel respectively. In March 2016, drummer Tom Hane announced his departure from the band and was replaced by Kent Diimmel, formerly of three Past Design.

Germination and Beautiful Tragedy (2004–2008) [edit]

In 2004, vocalizer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth met through an audition.[1] [ii] [three] Howorth initially rejected Brink because she was a woman, simply eventually accustomed her as the vocalizer of the band.[i] [3] Shortly thereafter they enlisted the help of Los Angeles drummer Jeff Fabb and formed the band Dying Star.[1] [3] After two shows, Howorth departed from the band to focus on other projects.[i] Brink encouraged Howorth to return to the band.[ane] Howorth returned and they agreed to endeavour something new with the band.[1] The band eventually changed their proper name to In This Moment.[3] By mid-2005, the lineup included Brink, Howorth, Fabb, guitarist Blake Bunzel, and bassist Josh Newell.[four] The band recorded demos and posted them on MySpace.[4] In tardily 2005, Newell departed from the ring due to his ain financial issues.[1] Producer Pascual Romero was and so the bassist for a fourth dimension before a friend of the band Jesse Landry was somewhen tapped to round out the band permanently.[ane] [v] Rob "Blasko" Nicholson, the bassist for Ozzy Osbourne became the ring's director subsequently discovering them through MySpace.[1] [two]

The Dream (2008–2009) [edit]

In 2009, Maria Brink and Chris Howorth announced that the band has begun writing for the next album, citing it to be darker and heavier.[23] Brink revealed the anthology championship A Star-Crossed Wasteland on her official site in February 2010.[23] Maria Brink was named the Hottest Chick in Metallic at the Revolver Aureate God awards in Apr 2010.[24] A Star-Crossed Wasteland was released on July 9, 2010. The album's outset single, "The Gun Show" was released to iTunes on June 1, 2010. Shortly subsequently Music as a Weapon, the band went on another headlining bout titled the Hell Hath No Fury Bout, forth with Direct Line Stitch, System Divide, and Sis Sin.[31] [32] The band was also part of the All Stars Tour along with acts such as Emmure, Alesana, Iwrestledabearonce, Blessthefall, For Today, Born of Osiris, Motionless in White, Sleeping with Sirens, among others.[33]

Departure of Bunzel and Fabb, Blood, and Blood at the Orpheum (2011–2014) [edit]

In This Moment performing in 2016

On March 16, 2016, Drummer Tom Hane announced his difference from the band, citing artistic and artistic unhappiness.[66] The band replaced Hane with Kent Diimmel, the drummer from 3 by Design.[67] On June 18, 2016, the band kicked off The Hellpop 2016 Tour with openers Hellyeah, Sunflower Dead, and Shaman'south Harvest before joining Rob Zombie and Korn for their summer tour.[68]
